Command Financial Specialists Training Schedules

Qualification of the Command Financial Specialist (CFS)

The CFS is the command’s principal advisor on policies and matters related to the Commander's Personal Financial Management (PFM) plan. The CFS should meet the following qualifications:

  • Pay Grade: Minimum pay grade is E5 (TIS for E5 candidates can be waived)
  • Motivation: Meet screening criteria for financial stability
  • Training: Successfully complete the command financial specialist training course provided by an FFSC
  • Service Time: Have at least one year remaining in the command (PRD)
  • Continuing Education: Participate in continuing education (i.e., periodic command financial specialist forums)
  • Refresher Training: At a minimum, complete command financial specialist refresher training every three years.
