Shipping Vehicles
If you plan to ship your privately owned vehicles (POV), you’ll need to know what the Navy pays for and what out-of-pocket expenses to expect.
Your first stop is the personal property office (PPO) at your installation. Determine which vehicle processing center (VPC) you will use and what paperwork and preparation is required.
You may be charged extra if you drop your vehicle off at a different VPC than specified.
The Department of Defense pamphlet, “Shipping Your POV," provides a list of VPCs in the United States and overseas, plus detailed requirements for shipping your POV.
Traveling with Pets
Are you taking pets with you to your next installation? If so, there are many things to consider, such as quarantine regulations, transportation requirements and vaccination information.
Animal import/export requirements may apply to family pets on a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move.
