About Third Party Inspections
In accordance with the FY20 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) the Department of the Navy has contracted for a third-party inspection of all government-owned and leased family housing beginning in July 2023. Once completed, the inspection reports will provide the Navy better understanding of the overall condition of the units and inform potential improvements that will directly benefit present and future residents.
Inspections will be conducted by an independent third-party inspector under Navy contract and will provide an unbiased snapshot of current unit conditions. Inspections include a comprehensive assessment of the unit interiors and exteriors, building systems, common areas, drainage, and landscaping.
Providing safe and affordable housing to Service Members and their families is a top priority for Navy Housing. The Navy is committed to continuously exploring methods to improve the quality of Navy Housing and increasing resident satisfaction.
